Hi, everyone! Welcome to my web site. I am a native New Yorker with a dual career in writing and urban planning. Please click on the headers (top right) to find out more about my professional endeavors and interests.

I would like to dedicate this site to two individuals whom I admired greatly: 9/11 first responder John Devlin and former Columbia Journalism School classmate Luis Carlos Montalván. Their lives were cut short by acts of heroism.

Devlin, a resilient, brave man whom I had the pleasure of interviewing in 2011 (picture below), was once a healthy engineer who partook in the post-9/11 recovery effort at Ground Zero. In 2014, he died of throat cancer associated with the inhalation of toxic chemicals during a nearly year-long work shift amid the Twin Towers rubble.

The kind, courageous Luis Montalván was a US Army war veteran who adored his service dog, Tuesday, and toured the nation with his golden retriever as an advocate for fellow soldiers afflicted with post-traumatic stress disorder.

I would also like to thank my immediate family and close friends (you know who you are), for providing a constant source of inspiration and love throughout my career. Thanks for visiting alinereynolds.com. 🙂
